Friar Paul Gawlowski visits Vietnam Mission

In August of 2018 Friar Paul Gawlowski, as a member of our Province Definitory (or leadership council),  traveled to Vietnam to receive the first professions and Solemn professions of vows of some of our Friars in Formation, and also to attend the Deaconal and Presbyteral Ordinations.

While at our Friary in Cu Chi, he saw the progress of the construction for our new Postulancy house, which will enable us to accept more Candidates to become Franciscan Friars.  Pictured at the construction site is our Mission Delegate, Friar Luke Vu, who has the responsibility for overseeing this undertaking.

While there, Friar Paul attended a meeting of the Professed Friars of the Mission where the Friars gathered to elect their first leadership council who have the responsibility of assisting Friar Luke.

Pictured below is the new Council, from left to right:  Friars Peter Maria Nguyễn Hữu Phước, Luke Vu, Paul Gawlowski, Peter  Vũ Bình Quốc, Joseph Pio Trần Văn Dương, and Peter Giuliano Eymard Hoàng Thành Đông.

Up in the north of Vietnam, Friar Paul visited our St. Anthony Center at Van Mon, and met some of our Aspirants.  These are men, that with the Grace of God, will become Postulants to the Order, and eventually professed Friars.
