On Saturday, June 8, 2024, Father Victor Abegg, our Minister Provincial, celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving for 50 Years of Priesthood. The Mass took place at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Pismo Beach, CA., where Father Victor had served as Pastor for 14 years prior to his election at Minister Provincial.
Father Victor was joined by his family and many of the Friars from the Province and elsewhere. Brother Joseph Wood, the Assistant General for the English-speaking Friars, represented our Minister General and read a letter of congratulations from the Minister General.
The Mass was preceded by a concert of sacred and secular hymns and songs that reflected various high points in Father Victor’s life.
After the Mass, there was a dinner served in the parish hall for family, Friars, and invited guests.
