In order to better serve the needs of the parish of Our Lady of Grace in Castro Valley, the St. Joseph of Cupertino Province canonically established a new Friary there under the patronage of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe, O.F.M., Conv. This new Friary was established on the Feast day of St. Maximilian Kolbe, Tuesday, August 14th of 2018. To celebrate this event, the Friars there held an open house for the parishioners of Our Lady of Grace, and concluded the afternoon with Evening Prayer of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is on August 15th. Living at the Friary are Friars Tom Czeck, Guardian and Pastor, Christopher Deitz, Tom Hamilton, Francisco Nahoe and Paul Fazio.
