Friar Angel is studying Theology in San Antonio, TX
Friar Angel Garcia is originally from El Salvador, CA (Central America, not California – smile) but later moved to Los Angeles, CA. He was first inspired by the Franciscans he met while doing volunteer work at San Francis Center in Los Angeles. He moved to Chicago to attend college, while also volunteering in the juvenile detention center with Kolbe House, youth ministry in one of the parishes in the neighborhood of Pilsen, and then entered the Friars after graduating from College. His more than two years of being a friar; postulancy and now novitiate, have been a good experience because there have been moments through ministry and community of joys, sorrows, and opportunities to grow. It is good and it is nice to be a Friar, to grow, and to share with others what God through his grace entrusted to me. Friar Angel professed his Solemn Vows in August 2021. In March 2022 he was ordained a transitional deacon.
