Postulants Arrive in Chicago

On Sunday, June 30, the new postulants arrived in Chicago for the start of their initial formation.

The official Welcoming Ceremony occurred on July 5 at the Franciscan House of Studies on Chicago’s North Side, six men were welcomed into the Conventual Franciscan Postulancy Program. All six will travel with their directors, Friar Paul Schneider, OFM Conv., and Friar Ian Bremer, OFM Conv., to the Solemn Profession next month.

Postulancy is a year of initial formation, designed to help men discern a vocation in the Conventual Franciscan Order. While living in community, postulants study Franciscan history and spirituality, spend time in daily Mass and prayer, and serve in various ministries in the Chicago area.

Please pray for these men beginning their journey in the Franciscan life and their directors that are guiding them.
