On July 12, 2020, the new novitiate class of novices began their canonical year. Because of the pandemic, the novices were invested in their home provinces prior to arriving in Arroyo Grande. The St. Joseph of Cupertino novice, Friar Wayne Mulei was invested by Fr. Jacob, our Province Vicar. The class represents St. Joseph of Cupertino, St. Bonaventure and Our Lady of Angels provinces.
Also, just by way of reminder, this year, 2020, is the 800th anniversary of “Cum Secundum” (1220), the document establishing the novitiate. Next year, 2021 (but during this novice class), is the 20th anniversary of our inter-provincial novitiate (2001-2021).
