CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF SAINT FRANCIS ANTHONY FASANI’S CUSTODY PRESENCE IN VIET NAM AND MASS OF RELIGIOUS PROFESSION
On Saturday, July 27, 2024, Fr. Joseph Tran Van Long, the Custos of Saint Francis Anthony Fasani Custody, presided at a Mass of Thanksgiving and Religious Profession at Dong Quang Parish, belonging to Ho Chi Minh-Sai Gon Archdiocese. This was a great occasion for our Custody which is celebrating 20 years of our presence in Vietnam and for the young men professing their First Vows and Solemn Vows.
Eight novices, Joseph Tran Van Lac, Francis Xavier Pham Van Duy, John Baptist Pham Van Duong, Peter Hoang The Dung, John Le Duc Anh, Peter Nguyen Thanh De, Joseph Nguyen Tien Tue, and Peter Khoa Nguyen Tien Dat professed their First Vows. Friars Joseph Tran Van Duc and Joseph Nguyen Quoc Huy professed their Solemn Vows for life.
We joyfully welcomed Fr. Jan Maciejowski, the Vicar General of Our Order and Fr. Benedict Baek, the Assistant General for Asia from our Curia in Rome. We also welcomed friars who came from the Provinces and Custodies in Asia (FAMC), a friar from Saint Joseph of Cupertino, USA, a friar who came from Australia’s Delegation, some superiors from many Congregations, men-women religious, our benefactors and Dong Quang’s parishioners.
After the Mass of Thanksgiving and Religious Profession, we hosted a reception in the parish hall for all of the guests.
