PRIESTLY AND DIACONAL ORDINATION MASS AT THE BASILICA OF THE TWELVE HOLY APOSTLES (ROME)
At 5:00 PM on May 10 (Rome time), Archbishop Martin Kmetec of Izmir, Turkey, conferred the Sacrament of Holy Orders—Priesthood and Diaconate—on friars of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual who are currently in formation in Rome. Among them was friar John the Baptist Trần Văn Hướng, OFMConv., of the Vietnam Custody.
The Holy Mass was celebrated at the Papal Basilica of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome. Concelebrating with Archbishop Martin Kmetec were Cardinal Dominique Joseph MATHIEU, OFMConv., Minister General Fr. Carlos Trovarelli, OFMConv., the Vicar General, members of the General Definitory, friars of the Order, friends, and relatives of the ordinandi. The Mass took place in a sacred atmosphere, coinciding with the “World Day of Prayer for Vocations.”
We kindly ask all the faithful to offer prayers for the newly ordained, so that, with God’s grace, they may become “good shepherds” who carry the smell of the sheep and wholeheartedly care for the flock entrusted to them.
